New Proposed Immigration Bill – Buy a house, get a visa

The Wall Street Journal just broke a story this morning about a proposed piece of legislation that would enable foreign nationals to obtain a visa to the US by investing $500K in residential real estate . The investors still need other visas in order to actually work in the US (work sponsorship or investing in a business) but the goal is for this bill to help boost the US economy.
